Apple is now shipping replacement iPod nanos to customers who had Nanos from a certain batch in the first-generation production run that have been shown to have defective batteries that could, in rare circumstances, overheat or even catch fire. Confirmed: Apple to Replace Defective 1st-Generation iPod Nanos With 1st-Generation Units (Mashable)

Mashable - Apple told Mashable it will be replacing recalled first-generation iPod Nanos with first-generation Nanos, not the new ones many had hoped would be sent.
