TVE sues Apple over digital video in iTunes, iOS

TVE (Trans Video Electronics) has filed a suit in the District Court of Columbia accusing Apple of violating two of its patents related to the way Apple distributes digital video in iTunes. Apple, Google denied dismissal of anti-poaching lawsuit

Northern California district court judge Lucy Koh ruled late Thursday that multiple technologies can't dismiss a lawsuit over anti-poaching deals. Adobe, Apple, Google, Intel, Intuit, Lucasfilm, and Pixar will have to face the allegations that they unfairly hurt compensation and job chances by making informal pacts to avoid recruiting each other's staff. Quanta sues AMD over allegedly bad chips

Contract manufacturer Quanta has filed suit against chip maker AMD. Taiwan-based Quanta alleges that AMD breached its contract by providing defective products that caused the computers, into which they were installed, to malfunction. Openwave files against Apple, RIM over mobile Internet

Software company Openwave has filed complaints with the International Trade Commission and a Delaware district court, accusing Apple and Research in Motion of patent infringement, Reuters reports. In particular the electronics firms are charged with violating five patents used to connect smartphones and tablets to the Internet.
