Quick question? What would happen if you brike your mobile phone? Not good… right? That’s why everyone needs to invest in a rugged case. I learned that the hard way when my brand new unprotected iPhone fell out of my pocket on a bike ride.
I was not a happy biker. Clearly, I needed protection. There are lots of places offering cases and covers for mobile phones but the brand I now have is Ballistic.
They have cases for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Droid and other brands for about $30. You snap the phone inside a tough case. There’s screen protection, too and a rubber enclosure that wraps around the phone. It all snaps in a holster you clip to your belt.
But here’s how tough it is. Watch as it’s dropped off a 15-foot ladder on the side of this building. On concrete. No problem. No dents. Still works. You can drive over the case in a car. No problem. Drag it down the road behind a moving vehicle. No problem.

The iPhone is on, taking video. They toss it out of a moving car. Ouch! Takes a beating, keeps on… videotaping. Now that is protection.
The big downside to the Ballistic case is once the phone is inserted, it’s pretty bulky. But then again, it’s pretty safe.
