Nextcat: The Entertainment World’s Facebook

So… You wanna be in movies? A lot of people do.

And as movie making moves beyond Hollywood and the traditional big studios, there’s work out there around the country on location, for extras and all sorts of production helpers. If show business is calling you, realize it’s who you know that counts. This week, let me introduce you to a social networking site for those who want to appear on the big screen.

As the entertainment social networking site Nextcat says… it IS  all about who you know. And it’s proud to bill itself as the first global online networking community for all things relating to the entertainment industry. While most users seem geared towards movies and film, all sorts of artists, models, musicians and others can also be found here.

Registering for an account is simple. And if you know Facebook, you know how Nextcat works. Make connections, find friends, follow the forums,  look for casting calls as producers and agents look to fill movie extra roles. Some independent films even cast speaking roles from here.

The site is alive with activity, from everyday folks, young and old and of all shapes and sizes who are finding work in the movies. Granted, few become stars but extra work does pay and… at least often puts you in the same room as the real stars.
