It’s winter time and a time when many come down with cabin fever. To cure it, many take to redecorating their home or shopping for a new one. If that’s you, we have some apps that can do some pretty amazing things to help you in house plans.
Snapshop makes furniture shopping a breeze. Walk into your room, pick your favorite sofa or whatever from a list of images which then brings up your iPhone camera with an overlay of the sofa so you can point and see the sofa where you’d like it to go. You use your finger to position it. Now this only works with the iPhone and the various furniture stores and brands linked to the app but when done, you can print it out or email the image, seeing just what it will look like in your room.
Here’s a very cool design tool for the iPad – Mark on Call, an app that does layout and space planning. You can also take pictures of actual finishes, fabrics, rugs and flooring from your favorite manufacturers and insert them in the plan. Cost is $4.99
You say it’s a whole new home you want? Then try the Homesnap app, free for the iPhone and soon the Android. Find a home you like. Take a picture of it. The app matches it to the 90 million properties in its database and tells you what its worth. When did it last sell? For how much? A well as all the how many bedrooms and baths it has.
