Get in shape with iPhone apps

It’s 2012 and this year, like every year, the number one New Year’s Resolution on most folks list is to lose weight and get in shape. There’s some cool gadgets and smartphone apps that may not exactly give you the willpower to succeed, but they’ll sure make it easy to get on a program that works for you.

So working out and losing weight is your top resolution for 2012.  You might want one of these: A Bodybugg. It measures every calories you burn. You enter the food you eat on a dairy with your iPhone and it gives you a constant readout how many calories you burned, how much you consumed. It uses multi sensors as its strapped on your arm all day and does the math for you to make sure you burn more calories than you consume…all that’s needed to lose weight. Cost is $149.

Too much, you say, then how about some very cool apps that will get you moving.

Here’s a noble goal: 100 consecutive Push Ups a day. This app gets you there, gradually increasing your reps, day by day.

How about 200 sit-ups? Same thing. Just follow the program, all graphed out for you.

And yup, there’s a similar app for squats. Getting you to 200 a day.

Each  of these costs $1.99. But trust me, they work.

All those exercises should have your heart a pumpin’. So here’s a very cool app,  The Instant Heart Rate app, 99-cents for both the iPhone and Android phones. Hold your finger over the camera lens and, in 10 secondss, it reads out your heart rate.

I’ve commited to make 2012 a healthy year so I have decided to embed myself in a health and fitness experiment. What happens if you only eat food that is good for you and if you exercise regularly? That’s the idea behind my SuperHealthyMe health and wellness site. Come by and see how I’m doing.

I’ve also written an easy-to-read ebook for the Kindle, iPhone,iPad and Droid phone and tablets on how to cut body fat through nutrition and exercise. Check it out and let me know how you’re doing.
