Here comes father’s day. And Guess what, there’s an app for that… or at least some great Father’s Day apps that will help your Dad do all the things dads like to do. Here’s some of my favorite Father’s day apps:
Everybody – especially Dads – can use the iHandy Level, a free iPhone app that lets you use your phone to make sure walls, pictures, shelving…whatever… is level.
For $1.99, you can also get the iHandy Carpenter for both the iPhone and Android. It has a couple of different levels but also a plumb, a protractor and a ruler. So cool.
Next up app or Dads is the On the Grill app from the Weber Grill people. For the iPhone, iPad and Android, this app has a timer, detailed grilling tips with hundreds of outdoor cooking recipes, many with videos. There’s even a grocery list function. This app is expensive, at $4.99, but it can turn any Dad into a gourmet grill cook.
Finally, give Dad some peace of mind and keeps track of the whole family. The Life360 Family Locator app for the iPhone and Droid displays the locations of family members and lets them check in with him to say they’re OK, or set off an alarm if they need help. The aps’s free but it costs $5 a month to track up to five family members.
