AT&T’s plans for the year took a step forward Friday after a sighting of its first LTE-capable micro-SIM cards. A store contact for Phone Arena caught a briefing that sales staff were to get rid of older cards and replace them with the new versions fully capable of talking to the 4G network.

German Judge Andreas Voss dismissed the evidence presented in court by Motorolaís lawyers on the grounds that it had failed to demonstrate conclusive evidence that Apple had infringed upon the patent in question.

To help you sort it all out, there are a bunch of great aps for smartphones and tablets that will help make tax time a bit easier this year. Our PC Mike Wendland gives us a look at some handy tax apps.

TurboTax SnapTax lets you prepare and file state and federal income taxes from iPhone or Droid. Use the smartphone’s camera to snap a photo of your W-2, fill out a few quick questions, review and submit. The app is free, but it does cost a small fee of $14.99 to file your taxes. But you can do it from your smartphone.

The H & R Block folks have a mobile app taps into more than 50 years of tax expertise from the company. You can view a checklist to determine what documents you need and quickly estimate your refund.

Here’s another app to find out your refund. It’s called TaxCaster. Answer a few quick and easy questions and find out how much you’re going to get back or how much you will owe Uncle Sam this year.

Ah, but is everything okay? When will you get that refund? From the Internal Revenue Service comes IRS2Go, an app that taps into the IRS data base to let you discover the status of your federal refund.
